Jorge Garca-Spitz

Jorge García-Spitz is a freelance Post-Production Supervisor and Post-Producer.  He started studying film as a TA and Film Minor at SMU in Dallas, while getting his B.S. in Engineering and Math.  After being a IT consultant, web developer, cook, barback, doorman, event lighting foreman, cheese monger, and bike messenger; he decided to get back into the film biz.  While getting by as a grip and production assistant on horror films and commercials, Jorge began interning for Katherine 5 years ago in her Tribeca space.

After cutting his teeth as a PA and AE on the Out 100 for LOGO, Jorge worked in multiple capacities on the creation of episodes for network tv with Be Real, Lesbian Sex & Sexuality and MTV True Life, in addition to supporting the media needs of our non-profit organizations like GLSEN, ESPA, FBNY and the James Beard Foundation.

Besides freelancing for other production companies and shooting or recording sound for friend’s personal projects, Jorge served as the Assistant Director for Theo Stanley on “the Hierophant” and co-directed an award winning short with Jillian Buckley entitled “Je Suis Bike”.
