Katherine Linton

Katherine LintonKatherine Linton launched her company in 2004 directing and writing the company’s first project, The Evolution Will Be Televised a 90-minute documentary special and the very first program to air on Viacom’s gay channel LOGO. The film provided viewers with an inside-out drive through the seminal moments in pop culture, politics and major events that changed the gay community and its visibility to the rest of the world. Linton was then tapped to produce and direct, The Out 100 for Logo as well as a two season documentary series, Stolichnya Presents: Be Real. Linton also created and produced a two season six part groundbreaking series on Lesbian Sex and Sexuality for Here TV.
Linton has since produced numerous cutting edge and award winning programs for MTV’s series True Life, and was tapped by Lance Bass and Michael Huffington to produce and direct the award winning independent film Mississippi: I Am, about the emerging gay rights fight in that state. She has also executive produced and directed high profile event videos for the James Beard Foundation as well as event and web campaigns for many other corporate and non-profit entities. Linton Media’s 2010 web series, Fight Back New York was nominated for the coveted Webby award in the category “Best Non-Profit and Activism Campaign.”

Prior to forming Linton Media, Katherine was an award-winning producer whose documentaries aired on PBS, Sundance Channel, A&E, Logo, VH1, Bravo, TLC and Discovery Health. She wrote and produced “AIDS: A Pop Culture History” for VH1, which won a Cable Poz Award for Best History Documentary and was nominated for a GLAAD Award for Outstanding TV Journalism. She also wrote and produced “Black Las Vegas: In Through the Backdoor” for The Learning Channel, which was awarded a World Medal in Television Programming; as well as “The Junkie Next Door: Women and Heroin” for A&E: Investigative Reports, winner of a Silver Telly Award. She also co-produced “The Addiction Project: The Teen Brain” for HBO with Emmy-Award winning documentary filmmaker Kate Davis, scheduled to air in 2007.
Linton also directed “Follow My Voice: With the Music of Hedwig” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2005, aired on the Sundance Channel, and traveled the world in film festivals. Katherine began her career in television as the host and series producer of the national PBS program In the Life, which recently ended after 21 years on-air.
